Officer-Involved Shooting on I-184 | City of Boise

At 9:40 am citizens called Ada County Dispatch reporting a person walking in the traffic lanes on the freeway going westbound.  A Boise Police officer responded and made contact with the subject on I-184 near the flyover.  Preliminary information indicates the subject refused officer commands, produced a weapon, and the officer was forced to discharge his service weapon.  The subject was injured and taken to a local hospital.  The officer was not physically injured.

Idaho State Police is coordinating traffic, all westbound traffic on I-184 is being diverted west to Meridian. Traffic is closed for drivers using the flyover to head east. The Ada County Critical Incident Task Force led by the Ada County Sheriff’s Office has been activated to investigate.  The information in this news release is considered preliminary pending the CITF investigation.
