The Land Board, comprised of Superintendent of Public Instruction Sherri Ybarra, Governor Little, Attorney General Wasden, State Controller Woolf and Secretary of State Denney, provides direction to the Department of Lands in managing more than 2.4 million acres of state endowment trust lands in Idaho, mainly to the financial benefit of Idaho’s schools. The board also oversees the work of the department in its regulatory and assistance duties, and in managing Idaho's public trust lands - the thousands of miles of land beneath Idaho's navigable waterways.
The agenda for this meeting is available on the Idaho Department of Lands website.
Superintendent of Public Instruction Sherri Ybarra is the state’s advocate for schoolchildren and articulates her goals for public education in Idaho in terms of outcomes for students. The State Department of Education provides the necessary support for schools and students to achieve. This item on the Superintendent’s schedule helps ensure:
1. All Idaho students persevere in life and are ready for college and careers.
2. All education stakeholders in Idaho are mutually responsible for accountability and student progress.
3. Idaho attracts and retains great teachers and leaders.
