Meadow View Nursing and Rehabilitation emerged as Canyon County’s largest nursing home during the first quarter of 2026, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) reported.
The facility offered 122 beds, 33 more than the county’s average for the period, and served an average daily census of 109.8 residents throughout the quarter.
The CMS awarded Meadow View Nursing and Rehabilitation an overall rating of 3 out of 5, which was slightly lower than Idaho’s nursing home average of 3.2.
Wellspring Health & Rehabilitation of Cascadia was the second largest in the county, providing 120 beds, while Canyon West of Cascadia ranked third, with 103 beds.
Meadow View Nursing and Rehabilitation accrued one fine totaling $8,018 and recorded a single penalty in the first quarter of 2026.
There were a total of seven for-profit nursing homes in Canyon County, Idaho during this period.
U.S. Census Bureau estimates show the country’s older population continues to climb as the number of younger residents drops. Between 2020 and 2024, Americans age 65 and older grew by 13%, while the under-18 population decreased by 1.7%. The nation’s older adult segment has expanded substantially, rising from 4.9 million in 1920 to more than 61 million as of 2024.
A 2021 report indicates almost half of Americans in this age group—about 28 million—could need long-term services and supports, with more than a third potentially requiring nursing home care.
“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance, an organization that provides insurance education. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
