During the first quarter of 2026, Creekside Transitional Care and Rehabilitation was identified as the third largest nursing facility in Ada County, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) reported.
The center provided 139 beds—40 more than the county’s average in the same period—and served an average of 120.9 residents throughout the quarter.
CMS awarded Creekside Transitional Care and Rehabilitation an overall rating of 4 out of 5, surpassing Idaho’s average nursing home rating of 3.2.
For comparison, Life Care Center of Boise was the largest nursing home in Ada County with 153 beds, while Arbor Valley of Cascadia was second with 148 beds available.
As of the first quarter of 2026, Creekside Transitional Care and Rehabilitation had incurred $8,278 in fines and faced one penalty.
Altogether, Ada County, Idaho, had 12 for-profit nursing homes.
U.S. Census Bureau estimates indicate the country’s senior population continues to grow as the younger demographic shrinks. From 2020 to 2024, Americans age 65 and older increased by 13%, while those under 18 declined by 1.7%. The population of older adults in the United States has surged in the last century, rising from 4.9 million in 1920 to more than 61 million by 2024, according to Census data.
A study published in 2021 found that nearly half of older adults—about 28 million people—may need long-term care and services, with projections that more than one-third could eventually require nursing home care.
“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
